Welcome to the Team Spotlight Series, where we share an insight into the incredible people that make up Together Films and amplify their talents and passions within the world of social impact storytelling.
This month, we shine the spotlight on Veronika, our Team Coordinator.
Pronouns: She/Her
Role at Together Films: ‘As Team Coordinator, I work across departments supporting theatrical and non-theatrical impact campaigns. My role is quite multi-layered and involves coordinating targeted research & outreach to organisations aligned with the issue contexts of the films represented by Together Films, creative content creation and more. Each campaign deepens my commitment to using storytelling as a catalyst for social change.’
Industry background:
‘My background is a mix of creative industries; starting with classical music, through to performing arts and finally film production. I’ve worked as an Assistant Producer on a Welsh/English feature film addressing mental health issues (which won the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Film at Riverside Film Festival) and I also produced an environmental documentary about the Willow Project in Alaska, nominated for Best Documentary at Earth Stories Film Festival.’
A Fun Fact:
‘I love crocheting!’
Favourite Films:
Aftersun (Charlotte Wells)
The Banshees of Inisherin (Martin McDonagh)
Favourite Moment at Together Films:
‘I had the privilege of attending Sheffield Docfest earlier this year, spending time with the Together team and seeing some incredible films in this year’s line up. A particular screening that stuck in my mind was the UK premiere of An Army of Women that Together is representing, meeting one of the protagonists Hanna Senko in person, and being part of the emotional Q&A which left me with feelings of solidarity & hope.’
Why Social Impact Entertainment Matters:
‘Social impact entertainment has the power to reach a wide audience and raise awareness about pressing social issues. By presenting these issues in a compelling and relatable way, it can help educate the public and inspire conversations. Beyond raising awareness, social impact entertainment can motivate people to take action. Whether it’s encouraging individuals to get involved in a cause, volunteer, or support relevant organisations, entertainment can be a powerful catalyst for positive change. I love how storytelling can inspire empathy towards others & the world.’
