Congratulations to the UNEARTH team for winning Best Film in the Planet In Crisis category at the Jackson Wild Media Awards!
UNEARTH was directed by John Hunter Nolan, Co-Directed by Auberin and Dunedin Strickland and produced by John Hunter Nolan, Auberin and Dunedin Strickland, Gina Papabeis and Eyal Levy. The film tells the story of Native Alaskan activists and commercial salmon fishermen fighting to protect Bristol Bay from North America’s largest proposed copper mine. It explores the tension between sustainable resource extraction and environmental preservation, offering a powerful narrative of resistance and hope.
UNEARTH, along with POWER STATION directed by Dan Edelstyn and Hilary Powell, was selected as a documentary project for the inaugural Climate Action Together Fund.
Climate Action Together is a new Impact Distribution Campaign Fund & Accelerator from Together Films designed to support independent filmmakers who have ambitions to raise awareness of solutions to the climate crisis. Our two film teams each receive a £20k grant, 4 months of strategy development and monthly mentorship from our Founder & CEO Sarah Mosses.
