Together Films will release An Army of Women in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month in select US and UK theaters & Non-Theatrical venues. This gripping documentary follows a group of women in Austin, Texas, as they join forces to legally challenge the system that allowed their rapists to walk free, with resounding relevance worldwide.
Directed by Julie Lunde Lillesæter, An Army of Women had it’s World Premiere at SXSW 2024 and chronicles the journey of women fighting to hold law enforcement accountable for their mishandling of sexual assault cases. The film sheds light on the systemic failures that allow perpetrators of sexual violence to evade justice, highlighting the resilience of the women who are challenging the status quo.
An Army of Women will return to Austin for a special Q&A event with the film participants scheduled at Alamo Drafthouse, Austin for Tuesday April 1st and Thursday April 3rd, and further screenings confirmed in additional cities across April. In the UK, Together Films will release the film, in partnership with Reclaim The Frame, at select cinemas from 25th April with a Q&A director tour at key cities outside of London. A London preview is scheduled at the BFI Southbank on Thursday 10th April.

The theme of Sexual Assault Awareness Month for April 2025 is “Together We Act, United We Change” – a campaign that embodies the power of collective action in addressing and preventing sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. Impact screenings in both territories aim to help raise awareness of the groundbreaking lawsuit featured in the film, and build a sense of community among survivors. The film will also be made available for non-theatrical bookings for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Together Films will be working with educators, charities, businesses, and community organizations so they can spark essential discussions about sexual assault awareness.
