As announced by The Hollywood Reporter, Iconic actress and activist Jane Fonda has joined the team of STEAL THIS STORY, PLEASE! as an executive producer!
Directed by Oscar-nominated filmmakers Carl Deal and Tia Lessin, STEAL THIS STORY, PLEASE! now has a roster of executive producers that includes Rosario Dawson, Rage Against the Machine rocker Tom Morello, Oscar nominee Julie Cohen, Dominique Bravo, Bill Haney, Jonathan Logan, Steve Silberstein and Tony Tabatznik. Deal, Lessin, Karen Ranucci, Diana Cohn and Caren Spruch produced the film.
STEAL THIS STORY, PLEASE! focuses a lens on the life and career of fiercely independent journalist Amy Goodman, who has spent three decades holding the powerful to account, reporting from conflict zones and the Democracy Now! newsroom. In the film, Deal and Lessin craft a riveting portrait of journalism’s power – and peril – in an era of corporate control and political attacks on truth.
The film has played at festivals across the USA, winning eight Audience Awards at Palm Springs International Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, Santa Fe International Film Festival, DIFF Doc Fest, and more.
Jane Fonda said:
“Steal This Story, Please! is a powerful film about the brave and brilliant Amy Goodman, a truth teller who will enter your heart and inspire you. As each day brings escalating attacks on free speech and media, this exhilarating film reminds us that silence is complicity. Everyone must see it.”
STEAL THIS STORY, PLEASE will be released in the US on April 10th. Together Films are representing the film for International Sales excluding North America – if you are interested in learning more about this film, please get in touch with us.
