Patagonia x Together Films We the Power Speaker Series

We’re excited to be teaming up with Patagonia to launch a new speaker series focusing on community-owned energy as one potential solution to Europe’s energy crisis!

In the UK, higher energy prices are poised to push an estimated 2 million additional households into fuel poverty, taking the total to 6 million, the highest level of fuel poverty in more than 25 years. What’s happening in Britain is playing out across Europe and there’s growing acknowledgement that it didn’t have to be this way. As energy bills skyrocket across the continent, can community-owned energy provide the answer we need?

Featuring experts such as Alice Aedy and Jolyon Rubinstein, the We the Power speaker series will focus on Patagonia’s short film of the same name, and will bring together leading experts in climate action across a series of free events between April 21st – June 5th.

The We the Power campaign asks European citizens to imagine a new energy system, moving away from big, extractive energy monopolies, controlling the systems of power and money, while exacerbating the climate crisis. In place of this outdated and damaging model is one of local, community-owned, renewable energy production, that is socially innovative and economically beneficial to local communities.
