Timeline

A short history of how we got here and where we hope to be

2014
Founding principles
Sarah Mosses founded Together Films as a solo consultancy following 5 years at a leading film fund (Doc Society). She provided consultancy services to a range of clients who were inspired by her campaign for Ping Pong, where she had raised a $500K impact campaign budget, and delivered over 2000 screenings of the film in the UK. The release was supported by the BFI and Big Lottery Fund, and showcased the ability for large scale impact campaigns outside of the US market. Many filmmakers wanted to know how to deliver something similar!

They Will Have To Kill Us First
Originally intended to also be a production company, Sarah was one of the Producers of They Will Have To Kill Us First (Dir: Johanna Schwartz) that premeired at SXSW in 2015. The film was acquired by BBC Worldwide and screened at numerous prestigious festivals including London Film Festival & CPH:Dox. Sarah was invited to provide keynote presentations at a number of high profile events.

Time to sign some rights
We signed the UK rights to Unrest, marking the transition to a company mindset. Our first employees were hired and we helped to secure an Oscar Shortlist with our first release. The campaign was supported by the Sundance Creative Distribution Fund and the BFI. We also started marketing the Human Rights Watch Film Festival and Sarah was invited to present a variety of leading film events including Hot Docs & CPH DOX.
2017
2018
Film Festival expansion
2018 was transformative for our Film Festival services as we started marketing DOC NYC (America's largest documentary film festival). We were also invited to speak at Art House Convergence (the epicenter of the US independent sector). It was clear that our data driven marketing methodologies were working.

2019
Impactful awards
We were honored to support the Action For Sama campaign alongside Waad al Kateab, and watch her go on to secure an Oscar Nomination with For Sama. Having marketed the NYC Premiere at 51Fest, we knew how powerful this film could be. We expanded our brand campaigns, working with Patagonia on the release of Artifishal and brought Roll Red Roll to theatres in the US. Sarah was selected for the Mayor of London's Business Growth Programme including trade missions to NYC & LA.

Digital Perspectives
A global pandemic forced Together Films to innovate to digital offerings and use technology to solve our client's problems. We launched the Digital Perspectives webinar series to support 3500+ industry professionals during the lockdown. Our network grew dramatically and our team jumped from 5 to 14, including our NYC staff.

Understanding our value
We have refined our vision into 5 key strands (Strategy, Impact, Marketing, Distribution & Technology). We signed a range of new film, festival, industry & brand clients. We opened a NYC office (Together Films LLC) and sister Foundation (Impact Together Ltd). Our Founder is selected onto the prestigious Inside Pictures Leadership Course and we attract senior talent from leading brands including BAFTA & Picturehouse.

Global Growth
As we enter 2022, we are preparing for the launch of our sales agency. We are working on a range of awards campaigns with leading studios. We have major brand clients seeking our support to advise them on social impact content planning. We are signing exciting technology contracts with industry peers and we continue to enhance our team in the UK & US.

Making Headlines

For so long we were the silent partner in the background, supporting a range of award-winning films to reach their goals. Since launching the Digital Perspectives Webinar series we have put ourselves in front of the camera more often. We have found our voice and will be publishing more podcasts, webinars, events and content throughout the year.
