Directed by Dan Edelstyn and Hilary Powell, POWER STATION follows a community’s mission to transform their London street into a solar-powered hub, bringing clean energy to local schools and homes. Inspired by Ann Pettifor’s The Case for the Green New Deal, the film showcases grassroots activism in reshaping energy systems.
We’ve been delighted to work on this project, developing an impact strategy for the film, holding a Braintrust stakeholder meeting to stress-test the strategy and forge early impact partnerships, and finally, completing a further collaboration supported by Nesta to develop a screening and discussion guide to accompany community screenings of the film, as well as a D.I.Y. Guide to help communities kickoff their own POWER projects. These efforts have advanced the objectives of the impact campaign to:
- Kickstart a nationwide movement that turns more streets into POWER STATIONS.
- Equip schools, businesses, and other community buildings with the tools to turn into POWER STATIONS.
- Galvanise public support for policy change on people-powered energy.
- Promote community-owned green energy solutions.
“Working with Together Films is a real honour, and we have bowled over by their professionalism, experience, and knowledge. We’ve learned so much, and as a result, we are confident that the impact distribution of our film will be massively boosted. It’s like we’ve added rocket boosters to the story and we’re really excited to launch it into the world!”
We’re looking forward to the POWER STATION World Premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest! Join us to watch it on Friday 20 June at 19:45 or Sunday 22 June at 15:30.
