Letitia Wright’s directorial debut HIGHWAY TO THE MOON continued its festival journey with a presentation at the BFI London Film Festival, screening as part of the Mapped Out Futures shorts program.
Written, directed, and produced by Wright, the film follows the experiences of young Black men whose lives have been tragically cut short. Set in a fantastical world between Heaven and Earth, HIGHWAY TO THE MOON is a powerful coming-of-age drama exploring themes of brotherhood, unity, forgiveness, and hope.

Created in response to London’s escalating knife crime epidemic, Wright describes the film as a “love letter to young Black men all over the world.” Through it, she seeks to spark meaningful dialogue about the causes of violence and the importance of healing.
An educational tour launches on Monday 20th October, with Wright visiting multiple schools across the UK. Teachers will use the educational guide created by Together Films to facilitate thoughtful conversations with students.
We’re proud to be supporting the film with impact strategy and creative consultancy.
